Kona Dream Builds: Elliot's Pink Princess Process X CR

Kona Pro Development Rider Elliot Smith, recently built up this race ready pink Process X CR to tackle a whole stack of enduro races in 2024. Elliot and the Pink Princess will be lining up at the NZ National Enduro Champs in Cable Bay before heading to Europe for a summer of EDR racing. The Kiwi privateer has choosen easy to source yet bullet proof parts for this build, with no mechanic and minimal spares, this build has to last!

Kona Process X CR Rock Shox Suspension

It's a Rock Shox affair with suspension, after running a coil for the last three years, Elliot has gone back to a Super Deluxe Ultimate air shock, up front he's opted for the latest Zeb Ultimate from Rock Shox.

Shinamo SLX cranks on a Kona Process X CR

For the drivetrain Elliot has gone with a set of Shimano SLX cranks and a 32t chain ring. a One Up bash guide protects the teeth while the upper guide ensures minimal dropped chains.

SRAM GX AXS rear mech on Kona Process X CR

Shifting is taken care of with SRAM's always reliable (as long as you charge the battery) GX AXS rear derailleur and a SRAM Lunar 52t XO Eagle cassette.

Purple Chris King Hubs

Maxxis Tire and RockShox fork

The bike rolls on Stans Flow EX rims laced to violet Chris King hubs, the wheels are shod with a Maxxis Minion DHR/Assegai combo with the rear sporting a Cush Core.

Chris King Headset on Kona Process X CR

There's more violet goodness from Chris King up in the cockpit, with an InSet2 headset, it's matched with a One Up EDC threadless carrier and tool. The stem is from OneUp and is their 35mm stem.

Kona Process X CR

The handlebar is One Up's E specific 35mm riser bar, the E bar sports slightly more compliance than their normal version.

SRAM CODE RSC BRAKES ON KONA PROCESS X CR

Braking is looked after with a set of tried and true SRAM Code RSC's, ODI lock on Longnecks ensure Elliot's gloveless hands aren't going anywhere. It's worth noting that while we ship the Process X CR's with two rear post mount adaptors for the different length chain stays, you can just flip the standard 20mm post mount adaptor to work in the long setting as Elliot has done here.

One Up Dropper post on Kona Process X CR

Elliot's had a long relationship with One Up and has been using their droppers since day one. A Fabric Magic saddle sits atop 240mm of ultra reliable seatpost. A V3 240 is on the way!

The build is rounded out with a Wolftooth Morse cage and One Up EDC pump and a set of bullet proof Shimano XTR pedals.
